Chapter I

The Weekend.

Three days, mapped gently. Arrive when you arrive; the rhythm holds.

Soft Mediterranean shoreline at golden hour

Friday · The Mediterranean 40

The Mediterranean 40

On the sand

Barefoot, easy. The weekend begins.

Time
20:30 — late
Dress code
Linen, loose, easy. Leave the heels at the hotel.
Atmosphere
High tables on the sand, candles, sunset drinks on me.
Note
The idea behind this evening is a drinks get together, but if you fancy some food, Chirin Sidi has a nice menu

Bring a light layer for after dark — the breeze comes in once the sun is gone. No need to arrive on time; the evening folds open slowly.

Mediterranean villa pool at golden hour with soft string lights

Saturday · The Mediterranean 40

The Mediterranean 40

From sunset to the dancefloor

Golden Hour begins poolside.

Timeline
  • 20:15 — We’ll begin by the pool and see where the night takes us. Expect sunset light, tasty bites, something cold to drink, good conversations, and eventually — very questionable but enthusiastic dancing.
  • 22:15 — Music moves indoors
  • 02:15 — Last dance (or thereabouts)
Dress code
Effortlessly elegant — elevated but breathable.
Transitions
Pool deck for sunset and dinner, then through the arch into the lounge — the DJ takes over at quarter past ten.

If you're staying in the city centre, you'll likely be able to walk to and from (a stroll along the Explanada de España which leads to the Meliá is a highlight). For those staying in San Juan Playa, Uber and Bolt are widely available, and so are regular taxis.

Mediterranean breakfast terrace with espresso and oranges

Sunday · The Mediterranean 40

The Mediterranean 40

Easy Sunday

Slow bites, sea breeze, one last gathering.

Brunch
11:30 — late afternoon, drop in whenever
Atmosphere
Sunglasses encouraged. Long table, simple food, a Bloody Mary if needed. No schedule.

If you have a late flight, the terrace is yours all afternoon. If you have an early one, take a pastry for the road — they're on the sideboard.

"The only rule of the weekend is that there are no rules. Eat slowly, leave early or late, dance if the song asks for it."
